How Codex becomes a 1C development tool

Codex is OpenAI's coding agent for software development. It works with a codebase, edits files, runs commands, and validates the result. Unica adds the domain knowledge and tools Codex needs for 1C development.

Skills for 1C development

The package includes dozens of skills for metadata, forms, BSL code, queries, infobases, integrations, performance, security, and testing. They help Codex choose the right sequence of actions instead of relying on isolated commands.

One MCP server instead of several integrations

Codex connects to one Unica MCP server. Through a single interface, it can change the project, analyze code, run 1C, and validate the result. The user does not need to install and coordinate a separate MCP server for each task.

Tools included in the package

Unica uses bundled versions of v8-runner to run 1C, bsl-analyzer to analyze BSL, and rlm-tools-bsl to search and work with large source trees. Unica exposes them through a single MCP contract and installs them with its runtime for the current platform.

How Unica works

Codex receives the task, selects the required Unica actions, and returns changed files with validation results.

Add a CourierComment attribute to the document and place it on the form.

The plugin installs from the Codex plugin marketplace. On the first MCP start it downloads only the current platform runtime, then verifies the archive and files with SHA-256.

  • Source code is public and available for audit.
  • Each platform runtime is published separately.

Install with two commands

You need current versions of Codex CLI and Git.

After installation, restart Codex and open a new task so Unica becomes available.

Why Unica exists

Unica grew from repeatable tasks where Codex needed to change a 1C project and validate the result, not merely explain what to do.

Separate instructions solved isolated cases. The plugin combines workflows, tools, and reproducible distribution into one working layer.

Standards search

ai.v8std.ru is a separate product for standards search and explanation. Unica accesses it when the user selects the corresponding function.

Unica does not send the complete project. The network request contents and recommendations for using the function are described in the data and privacy document.
